An Elric novel by Michael Moorcock, telling the origin of Elric, the last Emperor of Melniboné, and how he found Stormbringer. First published in 1972.
In the US it was retitled (without authorisation) as The Dreaming City by Lancer/Magnum Books, where it also suffered unauthorised edits.[1] It was eventually published in its original format under the original title by DAW Books in 1977, where it was classified as the first book in DAW's issuing of the revised Elric Saga.
