A Portrait in Ivory
An Elric short story. A short story featuring Elric of Melniboné, written by Michael Moorcock. It is set in the aftermath of the destruction of Imrryr that took place in the first Elric story, The Dreaming City, and occurs before the story While the Gods Laugh.
The story was originally written for an anthology edited by John Klima, called Logorrhea: Good Words Make Good Stories, where each story was based on a winning word from the Scripps National Spelling Bee. For his story, Moorcock chose the word "Insouciant".
