An English Exile in Hollywood is a piece of autobiographical non-fiction that collects the first four 'Hollywood letters' (originally published in Ambit magazine) Michael Moorcock wrote to J.G. Ballard while living in California in the late '70s and early '80s. Together with two later letters, the content was revised, expanded, re-ordered and, in one or two places, 'censored' (removing references to drugs) and eventually published as Letters from Hollywood, (1986).
