Earl Aubec and Other Stories is a collection of short stories by Michael Moorcock. It is Volume 13 in the The Tale of the Eternal Champion series published by Orion/Millennium in the UK and Volume 14 in the The Eternal Champion series published by White Wolf in the US.

The two volumes differ from each other only by the omission/addition of one story.[1]

For financial reasons no trade paperback edition of Earl Aubec and Other Stories was issued in the US by White Wolf, making the volume one of three in the US series not to appear in this format. Consequently the hardcover commands higher prices on the secondary market compared to earlier volumes in the series that were published as trade paperbacks.

According to all the covers of the UK editions, the collection is simply called Earl Aubec - and is identified by that title in the 'By the same author' list included in the front of each volume - but the Title Page of each UK edition confirms the true title as Earl Aubec and Other Stories.

And Another Beginning...

  1. For the The Eternal Champion omnibus series published by White Wolf in the US it was decided to include the Rackhir novella 'To Rescue Tanelorn...' in the first volume, The Eternal Champion. Consequently its position in the associate edition of Earl Aubec and Other Stories was filled instead by the Elric story 'Sir Milk-and-Blood'.
