"Manfred, or: The Gentleman Houri became a touring production in another novel, I fear... This was an idea I worked with when doing City in the Autumn Stars and having about fifty percent book left over after I'd cut it. Of late I haven't been able to lay hands on that larger manuscript, so presume it's lost. Wouldn't be the first time. Maybe it will turn up after I'm dead. I suspect Manfred will not be completed by me."
